‘A friend asked if I wanted to know what another mom said about me behind my back. I politely said, ‘No thank you.’ To this day I still have no idea.’: Woman urges ‘the tables you aren’t invited to sit at don’t matter’

“A friend once asked me if I wanted to know what another mom said about me behind my back.

I politely said, ‘No thank-you.’

To this day I still have no Idea what was said about me.

And Friend, it doesn’t matter.

What I do know is that I saw this mom a few weeks later at the grocery store and greeted her with a smile and open arms.

To this day she has no idea that I am aware of the fact that she said something unkind behind my back.

And Friend, it doesn’t matter.

The tables you aren’t invited to sit at don’t matter.

The opinions of others don’t matter.

What another person thinks about you really doesn’t matter.

It has taken me almost 32 years now to realize that the one and only thing that matters when it comes to what is ‘said’ about me is what God says about me.

In case you need a little reminder today, in case you need your heart filled to the brim with wonderful words about you, here’s a few:

‘She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her.’ -Proverbs 3:15

‘Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come’ -Proverbs 31:25

‘God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.’ -Psalm 46:5

When you see yourself in the light of God’s love for you, the thoughts, words, and opinions of those around you all start to fade away.

You learn to say ‘no thank-you’ and gracefully move on with your life.”
