As Lari entered the room, he barked, licked Rami\u2019s hands, and sniffed his face with obvious distress. Then, something incredible happened\u2014Rami\u2019s fingers twitched. A nurse saw it and noticed the heart monitor shift. Moments later, a medical team rushed in. When asked to squeeze a hand if he could hear them, Rami responded weakly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over the next few weeks, Rami\u2019s condition improved. Though speech came slowly, he was eventually discharged. At home, his memory began to return\u2014except the night of the mission remained a blur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One evening, Rami\u2019s mother showed him old photos. When he saw a familiar face and asked about it, his mother revealed it was Odell, his squad partner on the night of the mission. That triggered Rami\u2019s memory: Odell had pressured him to go in early and deviated from the plan, leading Rami into danger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rami reported the memory, and previously lost footage surfaced\u2014confirming his account. Suspiciously, Odell had never visited the hospital, raising more questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cleared of fault and back on duty as a K9 handler, Rami looked at Lari and said, \u201cYou knew all along. You woke me up in time to stop a lie.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
