Goodall, 91, passed away on October 1, 2025, while on a speaking tour in California, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/animals\/chimpanzee-gets-released-into-the-wild-but-stops-to-thank-rescuers-first\/\">Jane Goodall<\/a>&nbsp;Institute confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Goodall\u2019s name became synonymous with compassion for wildlife and tireless conservation. She founded the Jane Goodall Institute in 1977, authored numerous books, and spent more than six decades advocating for animal welfare, conservation, and environmental stewardship<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m desperate to make a difference before it\u2019s too late,\u201d she told Parade in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe can just give up, or we can say, \u2018We\u2019ve done a lot of harm to the environment, but we\u2019re going to fight for what\u2019s left.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Goodall\u2019s contributions earned her recognition as a UN Messenger of Peace, a title she shared with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/tag\/leonardo-dicaprio\/\">Leonardo DiCaprio<\/a>.
