{"id":1348,"date":"2025-10-02T12:39:07","date_gmt":"2025-10-02T12:39:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/humorsidehub.com\/?p=1348"},"modified":"2025-10-02T12:39:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-02T12:39:08","slug":"my-bi-racial-family-has-to-fight-against-racism-every-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/humorsidehub.com\/?p=1348","title":{"rendered":"My Bi-Racial Family Has To Fight Against Racism Every Day"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCan I tell you a story about my boys?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over a year ago, we were at a play place with our friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I needed to step away to go to the restroom, and my friend Audra agreed to keep an eye on my boys Eli and Ezra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They were wrestling each other in a ball pit when an older white lady felt inclined to inform Audra that the \u2018little black boy was being aggressive\u2019 to her son (Ezra).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, Audra, being the woman she is, informed this lady that they are brothers and they were fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone who knows these two, knows Ezra is my little aggressor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eli is sensitive and, while he can be mean, is truly a gentle kid. But because he is \u2018a little black boy\u2019 he was assumed to be harming the little white boy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You see,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lovewhatmatters.com\/go-back-to-your-own-country-slit-eyes-i-was-made-to-feel-ashamed-asian-woman-urges-break-the-pattern-of-racism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">racism<\/a>&nbsp;doesn\u2019t start with the unjust murdering of people of color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Racism is built on these little assumptions and small biases that make people of color out to be \u2018aggressive\u2019 or \u2018suspicious.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And these little things become the big things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How do we make changes?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We reflect on ourselves, our feelings, our assumptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We call out our friends and family when they say things that are \u2018a little racist.\u2019 We ask our brown and black friends about their experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why?
